Hub South West is a Development Partner, invested in a long-term relationship with participants rather than a simple framework that operates on a project by project call off. This partnering approach enables long term strategic agendas to be set and delivered on whilst refining project delivery on a continuous improvement basis.
What is a Development Partner?
hub South West as a Development Partner acts to protect the interests of our participants on all aspects of project delivery. hub South West employs dedicated development and construction managers to manage project delivery and work in partnership with participants. The management of the design team, construction partner and wider supply chain is hub South West’s reasonability and carry the risk of contractor insolvency along with project risk transfer.
Who owns hub South west?
hub South West is jointly owned by the Scottish Government via the Scottish Futures Trust, public sector participants and private sector organisations.
What does hub do to create a regional benefit
For the past decade hub South West has developed partnerships and local authority initiatives and employed a dedicated Social Value and Community Wealth Building team that has created a platform for creating jobs, apprenticeships and recirculating project spend in the local economy via bespoke SME Build engagement programmes, college and DYW links, STEM programmes and supporting local authority initiative. Recently a regional hub South West skills and economic strategy has developed focused at tendering hub South West projects based on long term regional objectives set by participants and our partners.
What projects has hub sw delivered?
hub South West has delivered over £850 million award winning projects to date across the South West of Scotland. This includes education facilities, social housing, health centres, regeneration projects, offices and leisure facilities.
How efficient is hub sw and how do you derive value for money?
From initial discussion in a matter of weeks hub South West can have design teams developing projects. hub South West has a quick development process utilising standard contracts that saves participants inflation exposure due to this timeframe. hub South West derives value for money via a dedicated market testing process for each package issued and employs cost teams specialised in reviewing project cost data.
