Garnock Campus hands over!
On Wednesday 21st December 2016 the brand new Garnock Community Campus in Glengarnock was formally handed over on time and on budget to North Ayrshire Council.
Delivered in partnership with Kier Construction, the £36M state-of-the-art community campus will serve Garnock Valley's 3 main towns- Kilbirnie, Beith and Dalry and will bring together pupils who currently attend Garnock Academy, Glengarnock Primary School and Glengarnock Early Years Centre in a new location.
The "All Through" learning campus will cater for 1,500 students in total and features a state-of-the-art six-lane 25m swimming pool, fitness suite, multiple games halls and a synthetic pitch suitable for rugby and football.
The ongoing collaborative efforts between all stakeholders involved in this flagship project have helped to produce a modern and innovative Community Campus pupils and local residents can be proud of.
Ahead of pupils moving into the new school on Tuesday 10th January- Garnock Community Campus head teacher Alan Dick said;
"We are all extremely excited that the opening is now just days away and our young people and communities will get to use this amazing new facility.
We have all worked incredibly hard to get to this stage. I must pay tribute to all the staff for their hard work and dedication- This has been a real team effort.
Those efforts have been rewarded with a new school that will be fantastic to teach in and just as fantastic to learn in."
