As part of the exciting new Dalbeattie Learning Campus Development, our Tier 1 contractor Graham Construction, held a Community Engagement session with a difference!

A 50m2 metre map of Dalbeattie complete with cattle, tractors and even a duck pond was centre pieceof the innovative, interactive and engaging session in the Town Hall. Pupils and staff of the existing schools, Parent Council members and Community Representatives were joined by the highly acclaimed Professor Stephen Heppell. The session was designed to inform and engage with the community of Dalbeattie on the new school development. The progress of the design of the new school was explained and questions and ideas from attendees of all ages welcomed.

Pupils of the schools became builders and design critiques for the day and they contributed to the session by adding the "building blocks" of the new school as the contractors and architects took the attendees through the story so far. Some great ideas were shared and the team will look to embrace as much of these as possible as the design progresses to the next stage.
