High 5 for hub South West
On Friday 3rd October 2014, hub South West handed over its 5th successful project on time and on budget, continuing its 100% record. North Ayrshire Council accepted the keys to the new £4.6 million Montrose House residential care home and resource centre located in Brodick on the Isle of Arran. This project,
delivered by construction partner Kier Construction Limited, involved the construction of a 30-bed residential care home with sensory landscaped gardens and associated car parking. This investment has created a significant community resource to support vulnerable older people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
Notwithstanding the inherent constraints of working on an island, hub South West has successfully delivered in terms of both lead-time to project handover (in a challenging build environment) and in achieving KPI’s. Over 80% of the works packages were awarded to companies based in the South West territory and over 110 events were held for local organisations. This project also ensured the employment of four graduates and seven apprentices and strong links have been forged with the supply chain to develop their workforce.
