National Design Award for South Beach Medical Centre!
Ardrossan South Beach Medical Centre has been awarded a RIAS Award for historic Scotland - Conservation and Climate Change.
This development, designed by Edinburgh based Architects Reiach & Hall, included the complete rennovation of a former Grade B listed Police Station on the Old Harbour Road, with 2 new extensions being added to complement the existing building, dating from around 1889.
The site now provides stae-of-the-art healthcare facilities for local residents and visitors bringing together a host of community benefits including local employment opportunities and the rejuvenation of a formerly derelict site. The simple yet effective design by Reiach & Hall employs the clever use of natural materials and daylighting, creating an interior design which is both attractive and functional.
hub South West are delighted to have delivered this project to Irvine Bay Regeneration Company along with Morrison Construction, and this rennovated healthcare facility now enables both minor and enhanced clinical services to be delivered locally, as well as continuing to provide a range of community services such as dietetics, district nursing and a travel clinic.
